FAQs involving Court Ordered Community Service

Check with your judge or probation officer if you will be allowed to pay for your community service hours. It is non-refundable.

  • GCFB does no accept Drug Related, Theft, or Violent Crimes to be worked.
  • No restrictions to pay community service

The age restriction is mirrored to GCFB’s Volunteer Requirements (11+) and minors me be accompanied by an adult.

  • The cost of community service is $7.25 multiplied by the hours owed.
  • Our system does not multiply that for you.
  • You may pay by credit card or bank account information through this secure website.
  • You may come to 213 6th Street N, Texas City 77590 to pay with exact cash, money orders, or cashier check.
  • We do not accept personal checks, food, or gift cards as payment in lieu of community service payments.

All payments are nonrefundable. Please contact Donor.Relations@galvestoncounty.org for more assistance.

  • Original paperwork from the Court and/or Probation Officer has to be provided to the Volunteer Coordinator to verify charges and to make a copy to place in personnel file.
  • All Court-Appointed Volunteers are required to come into the office in person for a brief orientation. The orientation consists of filling out the Community Service Form, signing the GCFB Waiver, creating Sign-In Sheet, and training on how to sign up for shifts.
  • No loose or baggy clothing
  • No dangling jewelry (charm bracelets, long necklaces or earrings)
  • No flip-flops, sandals or slip-on shoes
  • No backless shoes (ex: mules)
  • Closed toe shoes only
  • No sheer or revealing clothing
  • Sleeved shirts only
  • No tank tops, spaghetti strap top, or strapless tops.
